Hand-made Large Sock Monkey c.1940s

Spectacular over-sized folk art sock monkey c.1940s. Hand-made from cotton stockings and over 3 feet tall! The button flower eyes are also very unique, and make him look kind of "dazed". This monkey doesn’t have the characteristic red lips from the heel of the sock; it’s blue instead, reminiscent of a five-o-clock shadow, wrapped around a thin red stitched line for a mouth. Bendable skinny tail has wire inside to hold its shape. 

Faint dirty mark on his right cheek, and a few small snags. No holes. In great condition for the age. No odors. An overall pleasant sock monkey. 

Dimensions: Overall from tip of hat to toe is 36". Torso is 4.5"wide by 8"tall. In a sitting position it is approximately 15" tall.
