Hand knotted Caucasian Shirvan rug circa 1900 antique
A Wes Anderson playful color palette in a turn of the century hand knotted carpet. DONE. I’M ALL IN. It has a bright and light feel, with strong vibes, and communicates a complicated design; full of symbolism with dark walnut and crisp ivory outlines. Soft and finely woven wool. Would make a nice wall hanging, or layer over another carpet. I imagine this rug in a living room under a glass coffee table, in a bright and sunny sitting room, or as a welcoming bedside rug.
Condition: Distressed and worn with low pile, with a couple of 2" x 3" weak areas backed with fabric; nice edges and ends. Delicate, fine weave.
